One of my goals in photography is to never stop learning and to sometimes shoot out of my comfort zone in order to challenge myself and to expand my skill set. Well, that was the exact objective of this shoot. I typically shoot outdoors with natural light, or shoot in-studio with seamless paper, and I rarely shoot full-length and gravitate more toward portraiture. So I felt it was time to change things up a bit and shoot a primary full-length fashion series with a different background style.
This series was shot with the Milano hand-painted muslin backdrop from Savage Universal. Since I’m used to shooting with a solid seamless paper backdrop, this muslin backdrop has texture and for this shoot I wanted a more artistic look. So thanks to the talent of model Sadaf and fashion designer Setare, the look took shape, and I was able to shoot what I had envisioned for this look. I’m a huge fan of seamless paper, but wow, the artistic beauty of this muslin backdrop was perfect for this series, and I’m extremely pleased with the results.
