Hi Vic, Modeling Digitals should be unedited, and that also includes post-processing. They're made to be natural. Thus, even though you are not altering skin/blemishes, it's really not advised to use any post-processing software even just to brighten them up. Natural is best.

Yes, you can. The goal is to make things look natural. So if you're using artificial light, I would suggest a large octobox, a parabolic umbrella, or shooting light Ito a V-flat and bouncing it back onto your subject.

Thanks for the review. I've been using the Einsteins for years and have always wanted something with a little more power which could also be powered via battery. The one con for me is I recently switched from Canon to the LUMIX S1H. I think it's the best hybrid stills/video mirrorless on the market except it's probably nowhere near being supported for HSS with the Links. Sigh...

Hi Susan, just be sure to adjust your aperture to ensure that everything is in focus. Start with f/16, and then possibly even f/22 like I did with these sample shots. The smaller aperture will keep nearly everything in focus, and require a longer shutter speed. However, since you're light painting, the shutter can be open for 5+ seconds and be fine. Hope this helps.

Hi Mike, I sent my question via your contact page, but then saw that I could post a comment here. I am a relatively new Savage Light Wand user. I love your small, tight patterns. I have not been able to achieve this look. When I wave the wand behind my subject my patterns all turn out large and sweeping and fill the frame, even though I try to move quickly and make them small. Am I too close to the camera, or is there something that you can suggest. BTW, we are almost neighbors; I am in San Jose.

Yes, for full-length you can use a 35mm on a crop sensor. You can simply adjust the subject by moving closer/further away from the subject. However, if you use this lens for headshots (which is the equivalent of about 52mm on full frame) I would make sure to use lens correction settings for your exact lens in Lightroom to avoid any facial distortion. But other than that, it should be fine.
