Had a wonderful shoot recently at my studio in Berkeley with model Izzy (@izabella.goh) who is represented by Rae Agency (@RaeAgency) in San Francisco. For our shoot we shot a variety of looks, including hypercolor extreme gel portraits, some fashion styles, and these beauty headshots utilizing my custom ringlight that I built by hand.
RINGLIGHT BEAUTY HEADSHOTS IN-STUDIO
The reason I love this light so much is that it creates a unique and cozy atmosphere that draws the attention into the subject’s eyes for each shot. I shoot these specifically with a shallow depth of field to draw the viewer into the subject and accentuate the soft and delicate look of each shot.
For this series, we went with a Mocha colored seamless background from Savage Universal (@savageuniversal), for a complimentary color palette that makes these types of ringlight beauty headshots so timeless.
